STANDARD EXCESS INSURANCE COVER
All Pacific Horizon motorhomes come with fully comprehensive insurance cover which insures against recoverable 3rd party accident damage, theft and break-ins (excluding personal belongings). A standard excess of NZ$4,500 (per incident)
applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. Multiple windscreen and tyre damage is also covered in the standard policy as is overhead and under-body damage on the rented vehicle. An imprint only (no money held or transferred) of NZ$4,500 will be taken on vehicle collection. The security can be covered by cash, traveller’s cheques in NZD or a credit card. Should the insurance excess and the Vehicle Security Guarantee be covered by credit card the amount will NOT be debited to your account and will only be done so in case of an accident. We retain the right to hold these details 28 days after the hire or until such time as all damages or other charges have been confirmed and paid for.

Pacific Horizon Motorhomes offer the following options to reduce the Standard Excess:

Street Smart excess reduction 1: NZ$19 per day (added to the standard rate) will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of NZ$2,500 (per incident). Multiple windscreen and tyre damage is covered in the standard policy as is overhead and under-body damage on the rented vehicle. The total insurance charge is limited to a max of 50 days or NZ$950. The security can be covered by cash, traveller’s cheques in NZD or a credit card. Should the insurance excess and the Vehicle Security Guarantee be covered by credit card the amount will NOT be debited to your account and will only be done so in case of an accident. We retain the right to hold these details 28 days after the hire. or until such time as all damages or other charges have been confirmed and paid for.

Freedom Plus excess reduction 2: NZ$35 per day (added to the standard rate) will waive the excess for any vehicle and third party property damage. Multiple windscreen and tyre damage is covered as in the standard policy as is overhead and under-body damage on the rented vehicle. The total insurance charge is limited to a max of 50 days or NZ$1,750. The security can be covered by cash, traveller’s cheques in NZD or a credit card. Should the Vehicle Security Guarantee be covered by credit card the amount will NOT be debited to your account and will only be done so in case of an accident. We retain the right to hold these details 28 days after the hire or until such time as all damages or other charges have been confirmed and paid for.

ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE

Pacific Horizon’s All Inclusive Package is available to travellers for NZ$47 per day premium on standard rental rates.
The All Inclusive Package includes:
- Waiver of insurance excess on any vehicle and third party property damage.
- Camping table and chairs, baby seat or child/booster seat(s) as required, and snow chains where necessary. All one way hires free of charge.
Note that the rate premium is reduced with long hire discounts as per the rate sheets.

PREMIUM CLASS VEHICLE
For an additional fee of NZ$12 per day Pacific Horizon will guarantee a motorhome of 18 months or less (since the date of the vehicles first hire). In the event that a previously booked and confirmed Premium vehicle is not available Pacific Horizon will:
1) refund the client the NZ$12 per day for the hire period, 2) compensate the client a further $10 per day for every day that Pacific Horizon does not provide a Premium Class Vehicle.

VEHICLE SECURITY GUARANTEE

A credit card imprint is required on all rental agreements. The credit card must be valid for 28 days after the end of the hire. This credit card imprint or cash will be held for 28 days after the return of the motorhome or until such time as all damages or other charges have been confirmed and paid for.
In the absence of a credit card, Pacific Horizon requires a cash vehicle security bond of NZ$4,500 (or $2500 if Street Smart is taken, $250 if Freedom Plus buy down options is taken).

Other Notes
( valid for travel from 1 April 2010)
We will accept debit cards for the Vehicle Security Guarantee but they will be treated as a cash bond. i.e. we WILL debit the card as per the levels set for a cash bond.

IMPORTANT

The hirer is fully liable for any damage to the Pacific Horizon vehicle or third party property if: 1) The terms of the rental contract are breached; 2) Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, wilful or reckless driving or breach of any NZ driving rules and regulations; 3) Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; 4) Driving on restricted roads; 5) Water submersion or salt water damage caused through the hirers fault; 6) Incorrect fuel is used.

MINIMUM RENTAL DURATION AND COSTING
Minimum rental period: 7 days (5 days for travel from 1 April 2010), conditions apply. Minimum rental is extended to 14 days for the travel period from 20 December to 10 January and also for NZ/Australia school holiday dates. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick up or drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective of what time it is collected or dropped off.

ONE-WAY RENTAL FEE
One-way rentals are available between Client Service Centre locations. A fee of $250 is applicable for hires less than 14 days during 1 October - 31 March.

LICENCE AND MINIMUM AGE
A valid full national driver licence is required. Non - English language national drivers’ licences must be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international driver’s licence. The minimum age is 21 years.

RESTRICTIONS

Pacific Horizon motorhomes can be driven on sealed/bitumen or well formed gravel roads. No vehicle is to be driven on the following roads: Skippers Canyon, Road, Colville Township to Port Jackson, Ball Hut Road, 90 Mile Beach. No animals permitted in vehicles, with the exception of guide dogs, subject to our approval. Smoking is not permitted in vehicles.

REPAIRS
Minor repairs (when hirer is not at fault) up to NZ$100 may be made without authorisation and will be reimbursed upon production of itemised receipt. Amounts above NZ$100 require approval from Pacific Horizon On-Road Care and clients must retain an itemised receipt.

VEHICLE RETURN

All vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank and be filled up within 3kms of drop off location as witnessed by refilling station receipts. Refuelling at our Client Service Centre will be charged at current rates per 1/4 tank plus an administration fee. Charges will apply should the vehicle be dropped off at a location other than that which was agreed upon.

CANCELLATION FEES
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
If cancelled 29 days or more prior to vehicle pick up No charge
If cancelled 28 - 11 days prior to vehicle pick up 20% total rental
If cancelled 10 - 4 days prior to vehicle pick up 50% total rental
No show or cancelled 3 days prior to pick up 100% total rental
If a vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever, no refund is available. Fees will be charged as of date of cancellation

AMENDMENT FEES
Once a booking is confirmed, 2 amendments will be actioned free of charge with all remaining amendments at a cost of $20 each. The amendment fee will be waived should the amendment increase the revenue of the hire (e.g. additional days added, accessories and insurances added). If an amendment is actioned that alters the date of pick up then any cancellation of the booking thereafter is charged at 100% net tariff, regardless of when the cancellation is made.
Exception: Changes to arrival times on pre-confirmed date of pick up or drop off are free of charge.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE

If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any form of refund.

TAXES AND LOCAL STATE TAX
All charges include 12.5% GST and Road Diesel Tax. All rates and conditions are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.

PLEASE NOTE:
Rates and conditions may be subject to change. Whilst including the same facilities, some motorhomes may have different layouts to those shown. All measurements and volumes shown are approximate. The information provided on the website is subject to change without notice

Group Booking Policy
1) Group Discounts
Group Booking are subject to the following discounts (which are dependent upon the number of vehicles booked)
6 vehicles = 6% off daily hire rate for each vehicle
7 vehicles = 7% off daily hire rate for each vehicle
8 vehicles = 8% off daily hire rate for each vehicle
9 vehicles = 9 % off daily hire rate for each vehicle
10 vehicle + = 10% off daily hire rate for each vehicle. Where groups have a Tour Leader they can choose to off the 10% discount to each client or accept the 10th vehicle as FOC for the Tour Leader.

Each vehicle in the group will provided with a picnic table and chairs (1 per person free of charge)

Can the above discounts be used in conjunction with other specials on offer?
This will be dependent upon the other special requested. All future specials will state if they can be used in conjunction with Group Discounts or not. For existing specials already released (all released prior to 04/12/08) please contact us with your enquiry and we will inform you if they can be used in addition to Group Discounts or not.

Do long hire discounts still apply?
Long hire discounts still apply to group bookings when using only the Group Discount. If the Group Discount is used in conjunction with another special then no long hire discounts apply.

2) Group booking Guidelines

  • The minimum hire period is 7 days
  • Whilst we will strive to provide similarly aged vehicles in each category for group bookings no guarantee will be made for bookings of 1-0vehicles or more in the same category.
  • A non-refundable NZ $250 plus initial deposit per vehicle (including any FOC vehicle) is required at time of booking.
  • Vehicles numbers must be confirmed at least 60 days prior to pick up
  • Full payment must be received 60 days prior to pick up
  • Any requests for changes to vehicles will be subject to availability if made less than 28 days prior to pick up
  • All client details are to be provided at least 28 days prior to pick  up (these includes: client name; driver license details; home address; contact phone numbers; all accessories required)
  • Confirmation of any transport required during the pick up and drop off procedure are required at least 28 days prior to pick up
  • Full contact details are to be provided for the Tour Leader.

3) Recommendations for efficiency at Pick-Up

  • If possible, we recommend that Tour Leader Leader arranges for a comprehensive vehicle familiarisation the day prior to pick up.
  • For Group numbers larger than 10 it is advisable that staggered arrival times are utilised for groups of 5 at a time in order to avoid unnecessary delays
  • Clients are to be advised prior to pick up that delays may be expected due to the number of pick-ups required at he same time.

4) During the hire
Tour Leaders (or client in case of no Tour Leader) must advise Pacific Horizon at the earliest opportunity should any damage occur to any vehicle in the group so that any repairs or alternative arrangements can be made. Please note that the completion of insurance papers at the end of the hire are required for any accident and this will take approximately and extra 15 minutes to complete at drop off.

5) At drop-off

  • As at pick up, if clients can arrive at staggered intervals in groups of no more than 5 then unnecessary delays can be avoided.
  • The Tour Leader is to advise all clients that the vehicles have to filled with fuel and the toilets and grey water emptied prior to return. CSC's do not have dump site facilities for clients to use at drop-off.
  • Anyonward transport requirments must be co9mmunicated and condirmaed 28 days prior to pick up. Any changes at time of drop-off can expect to incur a possible delay.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Rugby World Cup Terms and Conditions
Below is a set of special Terms and Condtions for the period of the Rugby World Cup 2011, valid from 1 September 2011 - 31 October 2011. All other standard Terms and Conditions apply during this time.

CLIENT SERVICE CENTRE OPERATING HOURS

All Client Service Centres are closed on Christmas Day (25 December)
Important Note:
Clients must be at the Client Service Centres so that pick ups & drop offs commence 30 minutes prior to 1700.
For the benefit of clients and expediency, we reserve the right to allocate pick up drop off time slots during this busy period. Please assist us to do this in the best manner by providing all arrival and departure information.

All Inclusive Package: Pacific Horizon’s All Inclusive Package is available to traveller’s for NZ$51 per day premium on standard rental rates. The All Inclusive Package includes:
1) Waiver of insurance excess on any vehicle and third party property damage.
2) Camping table and chairs, baby seat or child/booster seat(s) as required & snow chains where necessary.
3) All one way hires free of charge.
4) New Zealand Government Road Diesel Tax
Note: The rate premium is reduced with long hire discounts.

The minimum rental period during the Rugby World Cup 2011 is 14 days. Shorter hires may be accepted entirely at the discretion of Pacific Horizon. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis i.e. day of pick up or drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective if what time the vehicle is collected or dropped off.

ONE-WAY RENTAL FEE
One-way rentals are available between Client Service Centre locations. A fee of $275 is applicable for hires less than 21 days for the period of the Rugby World Cup.

DEPOSIT SCHEDULE
A non refundable booking deposit is taken at the time of your rental being confirmed. Additional deposit dates for the RWC 2011 motorhome rentals are:
1) $250 at the time of booking (non-refundable)
2) 25% of cost of hire to be charged at 150 days before vehicle pick up
3) Remainder of hire to be charged 90 days prior to vehicle pick up

CANCELLATION FEES
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
If cancelled between 93 and 152 days prior to vehicle pick up = 25%
If cancelled less than 93 days prior to vehicle pick up = 100% of rental
If a vehicle is collected late or returned early for any reason whatsoever, no refund is available.
Fees will be charged as of date of cancellation.

AMENDMENT FEES

Once a booking is confirmed, any amendments are subject to the following conditions:
* Name changes of the hirer will not be permitted. Such requests will be treated as new bookings and will be subject to availability.
* If any amendment made within 93 days of pick up to rental dates are made then no refund is available in instances where the changed dates reduces the length of the hire.
* If the pick-up or drop off location is amended within 93 days of pick up a relocation fee of NZ$850 will apply.
* If the drop-off location is changed after hire has commenced then a relocation fee of NZ$850 will apply.
* If an amendment is made that alters the date of pickup then any cancellation of the booking thereafter is charged at 100% total rental, regardless of when the cancellation is made.

TAXES AND GOVERNMENT CHARGES

1) All charges include 15% GST.
2) New Zealand Government Road Diesel Tax is charged at $5 per day for all hires under 21 days. This charge is payable at pick up.

- Freedom Plus Excess Reduction 2: NZ$36 per day (added to the standard rate) will waive the excess for any vehicle and the third party property damage. Multiple windscreen and tyre damage is covered as in the standard policy as is overhead & under-body damage on the rented vehicle. The total insurance charge is limited to a max of 50 days or NZ$1,800. The security can be covered by cash, traveller’s
cheques in NZD or a credit card. Should the insurance excess & Vehicle Security Guarantee be covered by credit card the amount will NOT be debited to your account & will only be done so in case of an accident. We retain the right to hold these details 28 days after the hire. Note: The driver must be 25 years or older.

- All Inclusive Package: Pacific Horizon’s All Inclusive Package is available to traveller’s for NZ$46 per day premium on standard rental rates. The All Inclusive Package includes:
1) Waiver of insurance excess on any vehicle and third party property damage.
2) Camping table and chairs, baby seat or child/booster seat(s) as required & snow chains where necessary.
3) All one way hires free of charge.

PREMIUM CLASS VEHICLE
For an additional fee of NZ$13 per day Pacific Horizon will guarantee a motorhome of 18 months or less (since the date of the vehicles first hire). In the event that a previously booked and confirmed Premium vehicle is not available Pacific Horizon will: 1) Refund the client the NZ$13 per day for the hire period 2) Compensate the client a further $13 per day for every day that Pacific Horizon does not provide a Premium Class Vehicle.

VEHICLE SECURITY GUARANTEE
A credit card imprint is required on all rental agreements. The credit card must be valid for 28 days after the end of the hire. In the absense of a credit card, Pacific Horizon requires a cash vehicle security bond of NZ$4,500 (or $2500 if Street Smart is taken, $250 if Freedom Plus buy down option is taken). This credit card imprint or cash will be held for 28 days after the return of the motorhome.

IMPORTANT

The hirer is fully liable for any damage to the Pacific Horizon vehicle or third party property if:
1) The terms of the rental contract are breached
2) Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, willful or reckless driving or breach of any NZ driving rules and regulations
3) Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
4) Driving on restricted roads
5) Water submersion or salt water damage caused through the hirer’s fault
6) Incorrect fuel is used

MINIMUM RENTAL DURATION AND COSTING
Minimum rental period: 5 days. Minimum rental is extended to 14 days for the travel period from 20 December to 10 January and also for NZ/Australia school holiday dates. Shorter rentals may be accepted entirely at the discretion of Pacific Horizon. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick up or drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective of what time it is collected or dropped off.

ONE-WAY RENTAL FEE
One-way rentals are available between Client Service Centre locations. A fee of $250 is applicable for hires less than 14 days during 1 October - 31 March.

LICENCE AND MINIMUM AGE
A valid full national driver licence is required. Non-English language national drivers’ licences must be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international driver’s licence. The minimum age is 21 years.

RESTRICTIONS

1) Roads: Pacific Horizon motorhomes can be driven on sealed/bitumen or well formed gravel roads. No vehicle is to be driven on the following roads: Skippers Canyon Road, Colville Township to Port Jackson, Ball Hut Road, 90 Mile Beach.
2) Animals: No animals permitted in vehicles, with the exception of guide dogs, subject to the approval of Pacific Horizon.
3) Smoking: No smoking is permitted in the vehicles.

REPAIRS
Minor repairs (when hirer is not at fault) up to NZ$100 may be made without authorisation and will be reimbursed upon production of itemised receipt. Amounts above NZ$100 require approval from Pacific Horizon On-Road Care and clients must retain an itemised receipt.

VEHICLE RETURN

All vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank and be filled up within 3 km’s of the drop off location. Refuelling at our Client Service Centre will be charged at current rates per 1/4 tank plus an admin fee. Charges will apply should the vehicle be dropped off at a location other than that which was agreed upon.

CANCELLATION FEES

The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
If cancelled 29 days or more prior to vehicle pick up - No further charge
If cancelled 28 - 11 days prior to vehicle pick up 20% total rental
If cancelled 10 - 4 day prior to pick up 50% total rental
No show or cancelled 3 days prior to pick up or on the day of pick up: 100% total rental
If a vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever, no refund is available.Fees will be charged as of date of cancellation.

AMENDMENT FEES
Once a booking is confirmed, 2 amendments can be made free of charge with all remaining amendments costing $20 each. The amendment fee will be waived should the amendment increase the revenue of the hire (e.g. additional days added, accessories and insurances added). If an amendment is made that alters the date of pickup then any cancellation of the booking thereafter is charged at 100% net price, regardless of when the cancellation is made.
Exception:Changes to arrival times on pre-confirmed date of pick up or drop off are free of charge.

SUBSTITUTION OF VEHICLE
If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any form of refund.

TAXES AND GOVERNMENT CHARGES
All charges include 15% GST. All rates and conditions are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.


Pacific Horizon Motorhomes Insurance

Insurances
- All vehicles are fully insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. The hirer is responsible for the relevant damage excess for the cost to the third party property of to the rented vehicle, towing or recovery cost and consequential loss resulting from an accident, fire, theft, or break in. The excess is charged per incident, not per hire.
- The very top and bottom (including air vents and external step) of the vehicle are covered in all levels of insurance.
- Personal belongings are not covered in any policy.
- The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault, or if any personal travel insurance is held, and must be paid at the time the accident is reported, not at the completion of the rental.
- Where liability for the accident is clearly identified as being the responsibility of the third party, the insurance excess will be refunded, less any costs incurred.
- Where the hirer is at fault, any monies remaining after the assessment of total costs of the accident or damage and the consequential loss incurred by Pacific Horizon Ltd, including loss of revenue whilst the vehicle is unavailable for hire, will be immediately refunded.

- Standard Insurance is compulsory and is included in your Standard Rates.
- A credit card imprint or cash bond is required on all hires to cover the Vehicle Security Guarantee regardless of level of insurance taken.
- If no credit card is available to leave an imprint to cover the security of the vehicle (this is not the damage excess) and the cash option is taken, the Vehicle Cash Bond is NZ$4500 for Standard (Level 1) Insurance. If Level 2 insurance is taken, the cash bond required is $2500. The cash bond for Level 3 insurance is $250.
- Level 2 and 3 are only available on hires 7 days or more.
- Level 3 is not available to drivers under 25 years of age
- Insurance Levels 2 and 3 are capped to a maximum of 50 days.
Please note this excess is charged per incident, not per hire.
Therefore, the excess (all or part thereof) will be charged per incident.

Please note:
1. Salt water damage or damage resulting form submersion in water is not covered by the above options. The hirer will be liable for all damage and loss to Pacific Horizon Ltd. including consequential loss whilst the vehicle is unavailable for hire.
2. Driving on roads as listed under Road Restrictions negates any and all insurance cover.

Vehicles are not hired to hirers under 21 years of age.
Windscreen and tyre cover
Windscreen and tyre cover is included in all Pacific Horizon insurance policies. This related to the front windscreen only - not the side and rear windows.
